Business Challenge
A non-profit organization struggled to update its employee handbook. This task eventually became overwhelming for its Executive Director, who lacked the resources and expertise to navigate the complexities involved in this project.
KRHR Process
Recognizing the need for professional support, the organization hired KerberRose Human Resources to assist in the process. We started our work with the client, learning about the things that make the organization unique.
Listening to the Executive Director’s concerns helped the team transition the project smoothly. This helped alleviate some of our client’s worries. Our HR experts compiled industry-specific laws, rules and regulations to include in the handbook for compliance purposes. Some of the employee handbook requirements included:
- Applicable federal and state laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Anti-harassment policies
- Equal Opportunity Employment policies
- Health, safety and security policies
- Employee development policies/programs
